Letters from her cousin and mentor. .01 Undated but inscribed 1790 in pencil on address Refers to Isaac on his death bed. She asks for Catherine's prayers and sends Caesar to the congregation to offer prayers. .02 Undated Monday noon Rhinebeck Sends letter by Catherine Rutsen's Dinah. Reports Mrs Tillitson had a baby boy. Mrs Lewis goes to Esopus on Wednesday. Col. Lewis will be at court. C L would like CR to come stay with her until she goes to Clermont. A negro is being tried in Esopus for the murder of his Master. .03 Undated Tuesday morning CL reports of "little Margaret" who is very ill and after accepting God dies. She also notes that Mrs Tillitson is distressed. 04 Clermont July 17th 1790 CL gives CR advice on religion and it's impact on her future. .05 Rhinebeck August 30 1790 CL sees CR between two religious opinions - the Dutch Church and Methodism. gives her reason for chosing Methodism. CR is evidently in New York City with the Comfort Sands family, 21 King Street. CL plans to attend the Methodist Conference in New York. Mr. G will be at the Conference. .06 Clermont September 21 1791 |
