Twenty-five letters from his wife to RBS at Chateau d'Oex expressing concern about Robin and Arthur's health problems. Arthur is receiving treatment in Heidelberg for gastric trouble. He also takes classes and enjoys the flute and tennis. In June, Bessie writes from Chateau d"Oex while RBS travels to America, returning with son Henry. [letter #14] Aug. 31 Bessie is on the steamship Lorraine on the way to America with sons Henry and Robin. [#15] Sept. 05 They stay with Harry and Grace at Wildercliff and then at Wilderstein [#19] Sept. 23 Mansakenning looks very good as all three Lynches know how to make a home attractive. Henry resumed and Robin began classes at Phillips Exeter. Bessie spoke with the doctor about Robin's health care. [#20] Sept. 27 Bessie is putting Wilderstein in order, sorting linen and china, etc. and exterminating the roaches. She reports on the Crosbys and other acquaintances and son Henry's lack of interest in exercising. [#24] Oct. 26 She will sail on October 31 for Europe in the Kaiser Wilheim II. |
