Small light gray notebook with "November, 1912" printed on cover. Provides two lined pages for each day of the month. Excerpts: Nov. 5: Election Day. H.E.M., Nummie & I voted at Rhinecliff for Wilson. 6: Woodrow Wilson was elected president yesterday getting 422 elec. / Letter from Robbie at El Paso. 10: B & I went to church & stayed for communion. I had Newman take me as far as Haines & then return to church for Bessie. Put in plate an envelope containing ch. for 12 being, under the envelope system, my dues for Nov. 3 & 10. / Walked home from Haines in 22 minutes. / Eliz. Lynch came to lunch. Walked home with her in 1 hr. 8’. Mrs & Miss Starr Miller came, then H.E.M. came in auto. I returned with him. 13: To town in 7:46 / Gout in r. elbow. / Spent P.M. at Dioc. Convent. [Diocesan Convention]. My co-delegates from Ch. of the Messiah were already in place – Dr. Saunders, Douglas Merritt & George N. Miller / Bishop Greer 8 to 10 P.M. Manhattan Hotel / Met. perf. plates over library radiators can be 8" wide & 24" long. / Toward evening my right elbow gave me much trouble. Restless all night. 16: Right elbow rather bad. / Elizabeth Lynch came to afternoon tea en route to N.Y. for the winter by the 5:32 train. 18: Ordered thermometer etc. Blangas Co. / Bessie left on 1:08 for N.Y. & Phil. Addie joins her in N.Y. 23: Walked to Fink’s dock / Robbie arr. from Texas via Galveston by boat to N.Y. / Walked to first Rhinecliff house on our side & back in 50’. / H.E.M. arr. at 9. Put him in Bettie’s room for the night. 25: On foot: Left home, 12:15; Morton E. gate, 12:30; former Negro cemetery beyond mill, 12:45; start back, 12:50; arr. home, 1:21. 26: Bessie, Nettie & Addie to dressmaker. I drove with them to Morton East gate & walked from there to Vestry meeting. Left above gate, 10:45; Negro cemetery, 11; Wager’s office 11:30. We elected Vincent Astor a vestryman. 28: Thanksgiving Day. At dinner: Mrs. Floyd, Miss Montgomery, Ninon, Daisy, Nummie, Robbie, B & I, Eliz. Lynch. 30: Biked school house, Ruppert’s, Fisherman’s Bridge, Post Road, Hillside Church, Monroe corner, Marquardt’s corner, Sand Hill, Morton East gate & home; 8 3/5 miles |
