Small light gray notebook with "October 1915" printed on cover. Provides two lined pages for each day of the month. Excerpts: 02, Sat: Fancy dress dance at Geo. Miller's; Daisy, Bettie and Arthur went 03, Sun: Arthur went out with Vincent in the hydroplane / Some of the family & Peg M. tea'ed at the Mortons 06, Wed: Vestry meeting; present: Rev. M. Little, Wager, Miller, Merritt, Schryver, Dows, Dr. Goodell, Strong; I was elected a delegate to the Diocesan convention / An aeroplane passed up over river 07, Thurs: Very interesting at Electric Exposition. Few electric autos / Dutchess Co. Historical Society at Starr Institute - address by our Congressman, Edmund Platt / Daisy & Peg left to stay with Helen Langdon Brown at Morristown / Bessie to Putnam Co. Historical Society celebration at West Point 09, Sat: All went to Mrs. Morton's reception. Bishop Grur & Suffi Burch were there; met Miss Mad. Dinsmore for 1sr time; Kath & I walked home / Dance at Dows; Bessie, Kath, Eliz. & Arthur went 12, Tues: Anti-suffrage meeting, Town Hall - Miss Lucy Price spoke, then Col. S. H. Olin made an eloquent address. Bessie, Daisy, Bettie, Peg and RBS attended. Almost everybody was present. 16, Sat: Bessie to Tivoli to see tennis & have tea. Daisy & Eliz. Lynch to Tivoli for lunch & tennis. / Burned wood west of hickory tree / Arthur's friend Corbin arrived /All but Kath & RBS to dance at Olin's 23, Sat: Miss Marion Hull arrived as did Montgomery Langdon as well as violinist & pianist / House quite bouleversée in preparation for dance tonight - on the whole successful. Present: Tracy & Alice Dows, Helen Astor, Mad. Dinsmore, Mr. & Mrs. Kipp, Rev. Little, Miss Zabriskie, , Norton Miller. All left by 1 A.M. 29, Fri: Kath & Bettie to spend the weekend with Mrs. Delafield at Plainfield 30, Sat: Bessie, Daisy and Nannie [Cruger] went visiting around Barrytown. |
