Small cream color notebook with "December, 1918" printed on cover. Provides two lined pages for each day of the month. Excerpts: 01 Sun: Bessie & Daisy went to church./ They went to Cruger's Island in p.m. to tea & to meet Mr.& Mrs. Olney./ An aeroplane passed north over river (high) ab't 2 p.m./ Shade temperature below freezing all day . 03 Tues: Rather dark with occasional sunshine./ An aeroplane went north following the river about 3 p.m./ Bessie went to Pok. in afternoon./ Paid wages, Lettie to Dec 26, 20; Lizzie Oct.1 to Dec 3, 50. She leaves tomorrow to be general worker for Miss Marion Hull. 05 Thurs: Celine gave me $30 to send thru Cuenod & Co. to Mme Clara Strubin, Liestal, Baselland./ Bessie wired that she & Kath would start for home on 6p.m. Saturday. 06: Fri: To town in 8:08./ Lunched H.E.M. at Eberlin's./ Waltham desk watch rep .75./ Put 10M Ossining 5's in Safe Deposit box at 120 Broadway./ Decided not to take a smaller safe box so I keep #84@25./ 10 Cp Mazdas, 1.75 / 6 p.m. to Pok. Dined on train./ Newman met me there. Reached home at 9:07./ Ther. at 18 °, lowest since the 2nd, 15 °./ Watch at 2:15 -40". Former officers were elected & Dr. Peters was elected V president / 6p.m. train to Pok., dining on board. 17 Tues: Bessie went to Hebe's in A.M./ 6 Red Cross memberships & 2 magazines, 8. / For 3 girls' acct sold 100 Pacific Mail @ 39 1/8. 21 Sat: Letter from Daisy telling of opportunity to go abroad with Ann Morgan. 25 Wed: Bessie, Kath & Grace went to early communion 8:30 AM./ Daisy arrived 12:35. 29 Sun: Bessie &Grace went to church./ Eglinton inspected cove & Ellerslie Lake; found former impossible & the latter hardly safe for skating./ Has been freezing all day in the shade. 30 Mon: To town in 8:08./ Lunch at Hargus./ At Safety Deposit Co. found that the Dec. 15 coupon on 1M 3 ½ Lib had been detached and removed./ Bght 500.
