Ten letters to Robert from his wife. Written from Freiburg to RBS at Chateau d'Oex and in America and from America (Aug. and Sept.) to RBS at Chateau d'Oex. [letter #4] May 30. The girls are attending school at Freiburg. Arthur is at Valmont where Dr. Widmer has promised to see him every day. Bessie hopes RBS will have no trouble taking the dog on board. [#3, 5, 6, 7, 8} Bessie is displeased that Robin withdrew from Mr. Kidder's camp and plans to go to a Lake Champlain camp. She would prefer he return to Switzerland with RBS. [#9] Aug. 17. Bessie sails to America with Robin, Arthur, and the maid Celine who was so sick they moved her to the second cabin (at no extra charge.) [#9, 10] She forgot the keys to the trunks and has not yet received them so they have had to be nailed shut several times. |
