Small light gray notebook with "October, 1914" printed on cover. Provides two lined pages for each day of the month. Family activity in Rhinebeck and NYC. Excerpts: October 1: Miss Marion Hull left in 2:51 for Lake George. / Frank Olmstead came to tea in p.m. Robbie arr’d in 2:51 2: Bessie & Addie lunched at Tivoli with de Peysters / Nummie & I out in Ellide with 3 dogs. / To town with Nummie in 6:40. Belmont [Hotel, room] 718. 4: Stung by wasp on going to bed; he was concealed in left lower leg of pajamas. Treated with Phenol Sodique. 5: Arthur & Robbie in the former’s car left at 4 A.M. for N.Y. / Daisy went for lunch & tennis at Ethel Merritt’s. / Bessie & I went to tea at Olin’s. 6: Daisy lunched at Kittie Hamersley’s. / Addie to Dr. Traver & then to Crosby’s for a few days stay. 7: Daisy lunched & tennised at Hamersley’s. / Harry, Peg & Grace arr’d in p.m. in auto from N.Y. All take meals here but H.E.M., alone, sleeps at Wildercliff. / Nummie arr’d at 6:01. 9: Arthur played tennis with Vincent at Ferncliff in P.M. / Bessie, Daisy & Arthur to dance at Crosby’s. / Kath, Eliz., Peg & Grace under Miss Morton’s care in Lobomob. to Po’keep. to theater to see Maud Adams. 16: Ck. & form sent to Social Register. / Arthur arrived at 2:51 / Nummie left in 3:27 19: Dinner with HEM & HMS at Racquet Cl./ Bllds [billiards] afterwards in which Nummie beat me 50 to 25 / Night with H.E.M. at 319 W 76 / Letter to Beauclerk / Bessie & Kath came down today & are at the Buckingham Hotel. 22: Bessie, Daisy, Bettie & Peg to town in the 9:23 for Kittie Hamersley’s wedding. / My marriage occurred Oct 22, 1884 / P’d Celine 35. wages due the 18th inst. 23: Dr. & Helen Miller came to lunch. / Arthur arr’d at 6:01 / Jenny left, pd her in full, 45.75 / New waitress Lizzie arrived / New chamberm’ arr’d – Martha 24: Gout in left elbow 28: Daisy & Peg to Kingston in A.M. / Addie went to say good bye at Crosby’s & Eliz. L’s / Mrs. Rob. Huntington came to 5 o’clock tea. |
