Description |
1 page. Rhinebeck. RS begins letter with "I am here at last." An English family engaged by George Suckley has arrived with Mr. Livingston and placed in the Fidler house. RS describes the couple and their seven or eight children and how they might be of use. RS inquires about the plans for various pieces of land and crops to be planted. The sow with five small pigs is dead. One of the young oxen has been severely hurt. He asks several questions about work to be done: cellars cleaned, cider casks rinsed, sheep washed, buckwheat sown. He proposes stone or crockery vessels for the Dairy. Other questions and comments regarding agriculture and care of the land. |
