Description |
Fine classical mahogany square-back sofa with a square back and sides with a scrolled and paneled cresting and cylindrical arms on free-standing columnar arm supports with gilt bronze capitals and bases; the figured straight skirt continuing to plinth supports. The seat and back fitted with red damask loose cushions and an oblong squab. Dark wooden frame, square frame with round legs with brass trim. Red taffeta seat cushion, five back and one accent pillow. Attributed to Duncan Phyfe, New York, c. 1810-1825. |
