Description |
A Fine Sheraton Carved Mahogany Cross-Back Sidechair, Attributed to Duncan Phyfe, New York, Circa 1805-15. Ensuite with Object ID #583. With a curved and paneled crestrail carved with bow-knotted thunderbolt clusters above reeded and carved cross-slats and a reeded and curved stayrail; the scrolled stile carved with ring turned cabochons continuing to reeded downward curving arms on ball-and-ring turned tapered arm spports; the over-upholstered bell seat continuing to reeded saber legs. The bell seat upholstered in tan flowered brocade. |
