Black wool felt top hat with black grosgrain ribbon along brim. Brim turned up at sides. Black velvet hatband, 1.5 in. wide, around crown. White silk lining and leather sweatband inside. "Extra quality" and hatter's information [See Maker's mark] inside with "HMS" in gilded letters glued below maker's crest. |
